Travel is Youth and Travel is Love: Why you need to travel now!

'Wherever you go becomes  a part of you somehow'
Anita Desai

I grew up so quite sheltered, that I always think - past - and not go through or engage in life events or travel at least.
At the back of my mind it's always 'nah, maybe next time' 'nah my parents wouldn't want that' or 'nah, I should just give up and save that up for something else
- which is all wrong. I'll tell you why.

It started when my close friends decided to go wandering to the other side of the region.
To be honest I was kind of hesitant to go. But I kind of had the feeling that maybe this is the time to explore more of myself
and just shut off the world for a moment - I guess -

Did I also mention that it was my first time to travel by plane? Yeah, bummer I know hahaha 😂

Before, our trip to tabuelan - it was quick and wasn't challenging I would say. My other close friends quite know the city already and there was no language barrier. It was easy because we know what to do - you know what I mean?

Compare to this new whole trip, for me it was just so - refreshing. It's like - I got something what I thought I never needed. Even if I say this now with conviction, ,most people, like you - would probably question why I utter such words too soon when I am just starting out a backpacking extravaganza or that you feel I don't have the authority to say so. I have little experience in short.

Granpas over flowers? Have you heard about them? If you haven't then maybe it's time to head on to VIU or any viewing channel that has this show. I bet you're asking why I mentioned this?

Grandpas Over Flowers is a korean travel variety show that tells the journey of 4 veteran actors in their 70s in a foreign country led by fellow korean celebrity porter. It has about 14 episodes in Season 1 and was shown last 2012. It made headlines and was popular - making the show release Season 2, 3, 4 and 5 with each different destinations. It also had a 2 subsequent and successful spin-offs - Sisters over Flowers and Youth over Flowers.

I have watched it for a number of times already and it is so so so entertaining. Well, not that they're funny because they are old, but generally entertaining because you learn something from it.

What I vividly remember out from that show is that Shin Goo and other members tells the viewers to - enjoy their youth. I remember him telling with a regretful tone of voice that it's sad that he get to enjoy and travel at that time, way way too late and even hope that he can still do that for more years considering he's about 80.

It's never too late and it's never too early - he says. He says it's okay to work hard, build and put yourself out there but one must not forget about their youth. Because one day you'll be past it and be in a situation where you look back and see nothing that presents you with memories or look back in making the most out of their youth.

The most important thing for them in life is to - enjoy it.

Thinking about it again, now I know why everyone wants to travel as much as possible. It's not that they would want to easily unwind. But simply because of the adrenaline it gives you. It makes you feel young again and like a little kid that knows nothing about the world. -- just pure innocence. The excitement of having to experience new things and of course the - scenic creations of the world.

They say that that is the beauty of travelling. It's like - LOVE.

It surprises you and gives you these butterflies to the stomach.
You don't know what's gonna happen to you.
You don't know what's to come.
You go through places.
You get lost but you meet people.
You - enjoy every bit of the journey.

And it's like without you knowing - you just (snap) - fall in love 💗
