Blogmas #4 : Why Swirl Dessert Corner is better?
When it comes to desserts, you can always count me in. Specially with - Ice Cream.
I am always up and giddy for it. Like the lyrics say,
'I scream, you scream gimme that gimme that Ice Cream!'
Uh-huh #Reveluv ❤
But music aside, the title of this blog is somewhat overwhelming for me to say. I mean for someone who loves ice cream and mangoes that much, it is such a statement to declare. I also never thought that I could give judgement just like that too. But I guess honesty's got the best of me.
A few months back, Mango Graham Float in a cup was a thing. Well it was - years back, but in 2019 I think it was it's peak period.
Everybody was just so hyped about it. It was new and quirky to the eyes of the mass (like it did for me) - to serve Mango Graham Float in a cup with soft-served ice cream than - you know normally eat it a plate or a container.
The idea of it - it - is just fun. It was a massive hit. People were going in lines and it was just crazy. I'll tell you why.
When a certain brand or product gets the infamous spotlight, there's no turning back.
Like what they say, strike the iron while it's hot.
In the corporate world, they view that as business opportunities. Research and development, marketing, and management teams tend to get so quicker - than I thought.
And sometimes, with that initiative in mind, they lose quality assurance for me. As a consumer, I value that over quantity. And numerous businesses are branching out to try these products or relatively make something out of the same line.
I mean that's okay for competition - but really - you don't want to lose importance and brand value for the sake that it's ONLY - in demand.
When I first purchased a mango graham float or any 'mango' line - it was Thirsty's then Swirl then follows other brands.
The comparison?
Thirsty's - I would describe it as non-authentic mango flavored ice cream. You know what I mean?
It doesn't at all tastes like one (- yeah sorry).
It has the smell of a mango but after you lick or two and savoring it - it loses it's charm. I'm guessing maybe because of the food color? It was also too yellow for my liking and has an impression that it is made with food color. Well it's just a hunch but it feels and tastes like it.
Also I don't think the ice cream is mixed well. When you try it and savor it through your tongue, you can feel something that there are tiny beads or particles with it? You get what I mean? It wasn't processed well to my experience, sadly. But the price is nice because it is affordable. Though between thirsty's and other brands? - I think Maxi Mango is on the upperhand. I prefer them over other brands because they have what I think has a good presentation or good food quality.
Swirl on the other hand has a more authentic grip to it. Maybe also because the ice cream itself is not yellow? Lol 😂 But really what I like about it - is that it is more creamier and tastier than Thirsty's. It has the perfect sweetness to it and the ice cream itself - gives justice to the quote 'soft-served'. It doesn't also gives off an idea that it wasn't mixed well, or what I call 'tiny beads' like Thirsty's and other brands. Like I swear - #tastegasm and the mangoes are fresh too! Though, Swirl is quite pricey than Thirsty's, but the serving is satisfactory good. And the quality is on point - I tell you.
So, which one is worth it? You know the answer - Swirl! I just couldn't resist their ice cream. And did I mention that their stations are sooo pretty and clean? I just love love love going to their branches! Okay wait, now I'm craving! Haha 😂
Do we have the same thoughts about it? Comment down and let me know what you guys have experienced too with these brands. I'd love to hear it!
